Make and model Beneteau Oceanis 361 (2001)
Location Aruba
Flagged United Kingdom (Part 1 registered)
Engine hours 2040
Built Marion, South Carolina, USA

This generation of Beneteaus has an excellent and time-earned reputation for build quality and interior finish. BOHEMIA is sturdy enough to take you across oceans but also well located for island hopping and exploring the Caribbean. Check out her travels so far at http://www.youtube.com/sailingbohemia

Currently stored safely on the hard outside the hurricane belt in Aruba, she is set up for long term off-grid cruising with reliable equipment and loaded with extras. BOHEMIA is the sought after two cabin owner’s layout which offers a thoughtful and spacious interior with a large galley, queen sized master cabin, salon, head, standing shower and ample lazarette storage rarely seen on boats of this size. Coupled with the equipment and upgrades we have added, BOHEMIA really punches above her weight for a 36 ft boat.

Unfortunately a health issue forces this unforeseen sale. We have reduced to the price to factor in flight and accommodation costs for the buyer. There are two cans of Petit Trinidad bottom paint onboard ready for applying before launch. There is also a replacement PSS shaft seal hose ready for replacement in keeping with the recommended maintenance schedule.

Some of the extensive inventory and upgrades include:

  • All new standing rigging and chainplates (2019)
  • New 8.3ft APEX Hyperlon tender and Mercury 9.9HP lightweight 2-stroke engine (2023)
  • 540Ah BattleBorn lithium batteries, Victron 3000w Multiplus inverter/charger

What's should I be aware of?

We have commissioned, at our expense, an independent buyer's survey from a local surveyor because we know it will be a commitment for potential buyers to visit the boat in Aruba (although flights from the US are cheap).

We are keen to help remove as much uncertainty as possible for any potential buyer. In keeping with this, here's a summary of the survey findings. These items and the boat's location have been factored into the asking price. You can request the full report below.

  • Overall finding: "BETTER / ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION. The vessel appeared to be properly maintained and has a lot of upgrades installed for blue water cruising"
  • Rigging: Baby stay needs to be replaced (broken strands). Local rigger is engaged to replace this on launch
  • Forward fuel tank air vent corroded and needs replacement
  • There are two Raymarine chartplotters whose screens have failed. The LCD panels are sold on eBay and may be sufficient to resurrect them. We currently navigate without issues via Navionics, however. This can be linked via WiFi to instruments and AIS.
  • Tridata LCD screen at helm is hard to read and could be replaced (depth data is readable on other screens and through Navionics)
  • Hairline crack in gelcoat paint around one keel bolt (recommendation: monitor)
  • Bottom paint: Due for sand and repaint before launch (new paint is onboard, boat yard quote pending)
